Robin Patterson ( talk) 03:31, 22 March 2009 (UTC) As this does not involve discussion of how to improve our article on Squidoo, it might best be pursued elsewhere, such as the village pump. Do any Wikipedia authors care one way or another? I'm sure it would be possible for Squidoo to incorporate more informative wording if WP requested it. Squidoo readers would therefore get no indication of how to find the WP authors or even that the material is there under a slightly restrictive license.

The only mention of Wikipedia may be right at the end of the extract, in a link that invites readers to read the rest of the Wikipedia article. My "Porirua" lens is an example of the text presentation I declined to include an image when I saw that it was bypassing the big location map in the infobox and choosing a flag of Australia from the sister-cities links. It reproduces either the intro to the WP article or a specified number of characters, and has an option of including what it determines is the main image. One of the modules that anyone can include in a lens is Wikipedia. Alexius08 ( talk) 03:49, 16 October 2008 (UTC) Skimpy acknowledgment of Wikipedia extracts If the revenue is unknown, why does the infobox have a green "up" sign? Can I remove it? Kushal 16:55, 18 March 2008 (UTC) I've already removed it. Ken If it's nonprofit, it ought to be "" instead of implying commerciality with a. If non-profit organizations like which is similar in concept, can't have an article on Wikipedia, neither should a commercially oriented company. Alex Krupp 13:56, 16 April 2006 (UTC) I agree that it should be removed. How was this accomplished? - Shultz IV 05:22, 15 April 2006 (UTC) It was deleted and then recreated. How come this is known as the 1,000,001st article it was created on October 10th? I don't understand, and I looked at it in March, and didn't see that prior history before. However, all of the money generated during the beta test is donated to charity. Do you have a lense? Paul C/ T + 02:13, 2 March 2006 (UTC) Yes, I am a Squidoo user. oh really? Isn't that their business model? Share half of their revenue (after expenses and 5% to charity) with their users. ) Not that it really matters, it is a notable article and should be in wikipedia anyway. While Squidoo is a company, I am not an employee and do not stand to profit. Ziggur 00:36, 2 March 2006 (UTC) To clarify, I created the article.

Pretty transparent attempt at free advertising. I have a feeling that, if this had been #1000000, the WikiGods would have changed the timetables so that something less commercial won.- M r ē ino 00:26, 2 March 2006 (UTC).bogdan 00:03, 2 March 2006 (UTC) This honour actually belongs to Jordanhill railway station. But it's the first article that became 1,000,000th that counts. Since number 999,999 was deleted, this was the millionth article!Īctually, there more were deleted afterwards and probably more will be deleted in the future, too. I did not know what Squidoo was, and this article was informative and useful. It WAS written like an ad, but I deleted that part. Yes, I was going for one million however, I wasn't trying to cause controversy. It's not written like an advert, it was created by a genuine user with many other edits, and it's a notable website (Alexa rank over 4000). I've undeleted this since it doesn't seem like a candidate for speedy deletion to me. THIS IS SPAMOLA CRAP and a FAILED attempt at trying to be the millionth article. 11 Vandalism following HubPages acquisition.6 Criticism, spam on, for and via Squidoo?.
